Sympl updated in the 0.91 source release

Jun 1, 2009 at 11:49 PM

The DLR 0.91 source release package has been updated with fixes to the Python version of the “Sympl” sample language. Thanks to user “dsblank” for pointing out that the original zip had some issues here.

There are no other changes in the updated package.

Thanks all.

Why is the source in the repository different from the source in the 0.91 zip release file?  I realize that the source in the repository may have moved farther on the trunk since the release but it appears that the repository is missing all the source changes required to compile under .NET v4.0/VS2010 Beta 1, making it impossible to use the latest source AND compile for .NET v4.0/VS2010.

In general, our live internal source tree pushes to Codeplex weekly, usually Sundays.  It is always ahead of releases.  In fact, even when 0.91 released as a zip, it was cut from our VS Beta1 tree while the source pushes were several weeks ahead and included things like the new Sympl language sample before the 0.91 zip file released.

As of yesterday, we patched the zip file due to an issue with the IronPython implementation of Sympl, and hopefully the next source push will include those same sources.  Still, the rest of the sources are almost always ahead of the zip files that release.  This is also true of the IronPython project.

Sorry for any confusion.
